Stolen cables recovered, four arrested in Erasmia

"The group was intercepted during our regular patrols."

Four men were arrested in possession of aluminium cables allegedly stolen in Laezonia, Centurion, on Monday.

“The group was intercepted around 21:30 during our regular patrols, while travelling in a white Toyota bakkie,” said Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.

The men were found in possession of aluminium cables allegedly taken from electrical poles in the area.

The arrests were carried out by the SAPS and a local security company – Combined Private Investigation – near the R511.

A case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened.

“The suspects will appear briefly before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court soon,” Moloto said.
