Two arrested in after CBD police shootout

The incident happened in Marabastad at Cowie Street last Friday.

Two men were arrested in the Pretoria CBD following an alleged shootout with police in Marabastad last Friday.

“A case of attempted murder is under investigation,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola about the Cowie Street-incident.

The two men involved in the shootout – aged 37 and 42 – were among 26 people arrested for various offenses – attempted murder, possession of drugs, malicious damage to property, assault, drinking in public, drunken driving, robbery and theft – in the CBD at the weekend.

“All the arrested are expected in court in this week,” said Lamola.
