The Soshanguve police have arrested a man on suspicion of involvement in a robbery.
Police spokesman, Captain Mavela Masondo said police and the K9 unit responded to a complaint about a robbery at the Winterness train station.
The complainant reported a cellphone and cash stolen and gave a description of the assailant.
“The police rushed to the scene and spotted a man fitting the description of the robber on the platform,” said Masondo.

He said police approached the man and he started running.
“A chase ensued and the suspect was apprehended.”
In his bag the police found a firearm with magazine loaded with 2 live rounds of ammunition, a cellphone, hand gloves and a vice grip.
The man was arrested and charged with being in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and possession of stolen property.
