Police are investigating a fire that broke out in the Moot on Sunday, in which a woman had died.
The fire broke out at around 22:44 on the corner of Avril and Eloff streets in Eloffsdal.
The woman was in the house at the time and could not escape the flames. She was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

Her identity is still unknown, according to Wonderboompoort police spokesperson Mandlakayise Zwane.
“Our forensic team is trying to determine the cause of the fire and the cause of death of the woman,” he said.
“As soon as the identity of the deceased is uncovered, we will be able to inform her next of kin.”
Zwane said an inquest docket was opened at the police station.

He urged anyone with more information to contact the Wonderboompoort police station.
Tshwane emergency services said the roof of the house had already fallen in when their team arrived at the house.
“As soon as our officers arrived on the scene, they immediately took action to extinguish the fire,” said emergency services spokesperson Johan Pieterse.
Pieterse said the cause of the fire was unknown.
Ambulance services, Tshwane emergency services and the Wonderboompoort police were on the scene.
