Pretoria police launched a manhunt for a gang involved in a daring cash-in-transit robbery on the N4 highway outside Pretoria on Friday.
Police confirmed on Monday that the nine robbers were on the run.
The gang fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in two Audi A4s – one blue and the other silver grey.
A group of armed men shot out the tyres of a G4S van that was driving north, forcing it to stop. They forced the guards out of the van and ordered them to lie on the ground.

The guards were unharmed.
It was the sixth such cash-in-transit heist in Pretoria over the past three months.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters earlier said more should be done to ensure the safety of cash-in-transit vehicles.
“It cannot be the sole responsibility of the police to ensure that all cash-in-transit vehicles are safe on the road,” Peters said.
“The security companies also need to take measures and beef up security, because their vehicles are always on the move.”
Last month, a security guard was injured when a gang crashed into a cash truck in Soshanguve in an attempted robbery.

Before that, robbers blew up a cash-in-transit truck on the N14 near Eeufees Road before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
In the second week of January, robbers forced a cash truck to stop in Hammanskraal and robbed the guards of their firearms and cash.
