A security firm of the Moot is worried about vehicle theft in the area.
Kilnerpark Security spokesperson, Ancelize van der Kooi said no fewer than 14 vehicles had been reported stolen to the firm this month.

“The theft of vehicles is a serious concern in the Moot area. Residents need to be vigilant.”
There had also been some successes, said Van der Kooi.
A man was caught on 17 February with a stolen vehicle in his possession.
The arrest was made in 23rd Avenue by the Pretoria Moot police, assisted by Kilnerpark Security and residents.
Van der Kooi said another man was arrested on 22 February.
“A vehicle was reported stolen in Codonia Avenue and was found that same day in the same street,” she said.

“The vehicle was stolen from a resident’s property.”
On 24 February, another stolen vehicle was recovered in the same street it was taken from shortly before.
Van der Kooi urged residents to secure vehicles.
“Always make sure that your vehicle is locked. Car jamming is a reality,” she said.
“Belongings that could look appealing for criminals should also be locked away and not kept in the car.”
Rekord reported last week that the theft of gate motors were increasing in the Moot.
Van der Kooi said a man was caught for being in the possession of a gate motor on 24 February.
“A resident saw the man with the gate motor and reported the incident to us,” she said.
Van der Kooi said it could not be immediately ascertained whether the gate motor was stolen.
