More than 20 pupils from various schools in the north of Pretoria will be disciplined, following a police raid in which an assortment of weapons and dagga were confiscated.

Classes at four schools in the Winterveldt area were halted on Thursday when police officers, community patrollers, Tshwane north school safety coordinator, as well as the department of education searched pupils.
The raids started at around 08:30, according to police spokesperson Captain Samuel Sebola.
The schools visited were: Dr Sam Motsuenyane Comprehensive, Thulaganyo Secondary, Abel Motshoane Secondary and Tswaing Secondary.
Sebola said learners were ordered into their classrooms for body searches and at Tswaing, two grade 11 pupils were found in possession of knives.
The knives were confiscated by the police.

The school’s principal said that he would inform the two learners’ parents and that they would be disciplined in accordance with the school’s code of conduct.
At Thulaganyo Secondary School, two learners were found in possession of dagga. They were also taken to the principal’s office.
“These learners will also be dealt with in accordance with the school’s code of conduct,” he said.
More than 15 other pupils were found in possession of prohibited items.
“Similar school searches were set to continue in Tshwane north cluster,” said Sebola.
