The police stop-and-search operations in Atteridgeville, Erasmia and Pretoria CBD at the weekend netted nearly 200 arrests.
Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said 186 were arrested in the joint Tshwane West cluster, Tshwane metro police and department of home affairs operation.
“Many were arrested for various offences, including the possession of an unlicensed firearm, housebreaking equipment and drugs, theft, drunk driving and malicious damage to property,” he said.
“Police will continue to curb criminal activities across the Tshwane West cluster to make Pretoria a safe and secure place for all members of the public.”
