The war against drugs in Eersterust is making progress.
A man was arrested for the possession of drugs on Tuesday at around 00:50, according to police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo.
“Officers were busy tracking a man suspected of murder when they came across another man at the suspect’s residence.”
Shibambo said the 29-year-old man was arrested for being in the possession of 22 packets containing what the police suspected to be CAT.
The man will appear in court soon.

“Our police station has declared war on drugs in Eersterust. Officers are making arrests on a daily basis in order to deter drug abuse among the youth.”
Earlier in February, a 21-year-old man was arrested, also for being in the possession of drugs, after a tip-off from a resident.
“We received information that the suspect was selling dagga from his parents’ house at Delphinium Avenue. The police immediately proceeded to the said address,” Shibambo told Rekord in February.
Police found 740g of dagga stashed in bags in and around the house.

Shibambo said residents were urged to report suspicious persons, vehicles and anyone suspected to be dealing in or trafficking drugs in the area.
