Tshwane University of Technology students and Not-in-My-Name activists marched in Pretoria on Friday to demand justice for the murder of a young Taxify driver.
Siyabonga Ngcobo (21) was attacked and killed last week in Sunnyside.
His body was later found inside the boot of his torched vehicle.

Ngcobo’s death is believed to be linked to the ongoing turf wars between Uber, Taxify and metered taxis.
Hundreds of demonstrators marched to the office of transport minister Blade Nzimande and police minister Bheki Cele to hand in a memorandum of demands.

General secretary of the citizen ZA movement Mzwandile Simelani demanded that the case be prioritised.
“Justice delayed is justice denied. We believe that the killers must be arrested and prosecuted in our courts accordingly, as soon as possible.”
Simelani said the minister of police must hold officers accountable for failing to protect the citizens who have become victims of meter taxi violence.

He said the marchers demanded a response from the two ministers within 10 days.

The family representative, Melusi Mbanambi, previously said that the family wants justice.

“The only thing we want now is for those criminals to be arrested and pay for what they did.”
The suspects are still at large.
