Two nabbed for possession of drugs in the west

Police were given Information that led to arrest of elderly man who was selling drugs.

A police drug task team recently arrested two people for selling dagga and nyaope in the west of Pretoria.

One arrest was made during a stop-and-search operation in Lotus Gardens, according to police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma.

A suspect was found with a plastic bag containing 15 brown small packages of nyaope in his vehicle.

(Nyaope is a potent street drug that is a mixture of dagga and heroin.)

In the other arrest, police were given information that led to the arrest of an elderly man at his house in Lotus Gardens who was selling dagga.

“Upon arrival, the suspect was found in the premises and searched. Three matchboxes [of dagga] were found inside the house.”

Vuma said the man was taken to the Pretoria West police station.
