A 27-year old man was robbed by a gang brandishing firearms in Eersterust on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said it happened around 04:35.
“The victim was waiting for transport in front of his gate at Vygie Avenue when a red Volkswagen Jetta pulled over next to him,” he said.
“The passenger pointed a firearm at the victim and ordered him to go back to his room.”
Shibambo said the man complied and the culprits took household goods to the value of R12 000.

He urged possible witnesses to come forward.

“The identity of the callers will be kept anonymously and the information received will be treated confidentially,” said Shibambo.
“In the meantime, the police are requesting the community not to buy stolen goods and to report people whom they suspect of selling stolen goods to the police.”
