A 45-year-old man was arrested in Valhalla on Thursday for the illegal possession of medicine.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the Tshwane West Cluster Crime Prevention narcotic team received a tip-off from the community “and after an intelligence observation the suspect was arrested in possession of illegal schedule 4 and 5 medicine such as aspen warfarin, nuzak and arthrexin”.
Selepe said one of the antidepressants found were a commonly used ingredient in drug nyaope.
“The team, led by warrant officers Van Der Berg and Van Der Hyde seized the medication.”
The total value of of the medication was unknown.

Cluster commander, Major-General Thomas Mthombeni applauded the team for the excellent work.
The man was expected in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
