NEWSFLASH: Body of drowned Bronkhorstspruit guard found

The guard was on his way home from work when he slipped into the river.

A body of a security guard who fell into a river in Bronkhorstspruit was found on Tuesday morning.

Bronkhorstspruit police spokesperson Constable Phongo confirmed that the 41-year-old was found in the river.

“He was declared dead by paramedics and his family were on scene to identify the body,” she said.

Phongo urged pedestrians not to cross the river near the Bronkhorstspruit taxi rank.

One of the members of the search operation said the body was found floating around 09:00.

“The guard was on his way home from work when he slipped into the river around 06:00, during the time of the flash floods.”
