More than a year later, police are still searching for the men involved in the murder of rally champion Jan Hettema.
Police spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale told Rekord this week that the investigation was still active and would continue until the suspects were apprehended.
“At this stage, no arrests have been made yet and police will continue the investigation until the suspects are arrested,” she said.
“Several leads are being followed.”

Hettema, also a former South African cycling champion, was gunned down on his farm in Tweedracht in June last year.
The killers tied up his wife Elsa and shoved a worker in a cupboard.
The men then took off with a cellphone, laptop and jewellery.
Hettema’s daughter Helena said her father’s ashes were kept and would eventually be scattered on the 10ha farm where he was killed once the killers were nabbed.
Hettema was a five-time South African national rally driving champion in his heyday.
He died at the age of 83.
