Two people who were attacked at Fort Klapperkop earlier this month claimed police officers and private security company members on the scene were unwilling to help them.
The attack happened during the early evening hours.
The couple, who wished to remain anonymous, said they finally left without any help from the officers at the scene.
Police spokesman Captain Daniel Mavimbela said the police cannot comment on the incident since they have no record of it.

“Upon receipt of any complaint, the tactical response of police officers cannot (however) be determined by a complainant, but by their own expertise upon analysing such a complaint,” said Mavimbela.
“Members of the public are advised to approach the local station commander should their complaints not be handled satisfactorily.”
In the past police have warned that the area is a crime hotspot.
It has, however, quietened down significantly, following an increased police and private security company presence, said Mavimbela.
