Former Centurion teacher dies in horrific car crash
De Bruin qualified as a professional hunter in July 2014 and left the teaching profession in April 2017 to pursue her passion full time.
A head-on collision on the N4 Schoemanskloof Road near the Bambi off-ramp on Thursday claimed the lives of four people, including that of 36-year-old Anelda de Bruin, a former teacher from Centurion.
De Bruin’s sister, Sonel Joubert, told Rekord that De Bruin was busy making a venison delivery for the company which she owned, Die Vleismeisie, when the accident occurred.

The cause of the accident still under police investigation.
Tributes for De Bruin poured in on social media over the weekend.
“My sister was very passionate about hunting and the outdoors,” said Joubert.

De Bruin studied to be a professional hunter under David Sutherland of the Sutherland Hunting Academy while she was a teacher at Wierda Park primary school in Centurion.
She qualified as a professional hunter in July 2014 and left the teaching profession in April 2017 to pursue her passion full time.
De Bruin was also involved in the sale of exotic animals under Game For Sale and was the co-owner of a hunting business, Linare Safaris.

“She loved all her animals very much,” said Joubert.
De Bruin owned two Weimaraner dogs, Joe and Lilly, as well as a Yorkie named Bienkie.
In 2015, De Bruin took part in South Africa’s first African Huntress competition, where she placed third.
She is also survived by her mother, Mariëtte de Bruin, who is a teacher at Midstream Ridge primary school, and her grandmother.
