Former Centurion teacher laid to rest
Her sister, Sonel Joubert, described De Bruin as someone who was easy to love because she loved so selflessly.
The life and inspirational personality of Anelda de Bruin (36) were honoured on Friday, 15 June, during her memorial service at Doxa Deo Midstream near Midfields Estate, Centurion.
Pastor Jannie van Niekerk led the service and described De Bruin’s passion for children which she lived out during her time as teacher at Wierda Park primary school and in the youth ministry.
Van Niekerk also spoke of De Bruin’s love for animals and the outdoors which she pursued to the fullest in her career as a professional hunter.

“She was always willing when the youth ministry went camping. On my camps, we always did things differently. Swimming in dams, throwing clay and hunting jackals were always a part of the programme and – as you know – it fit her like a glove,” said Van Niekerk.
Her sister, Sonel Joubert, described De Bruin as someone who was easy to love because she loved so selflessly.
A slideshow of pictures of her passion for life and the outdoors was showed to the church full of her loved ones.
As Rekord previously reported, De Bruin was among four people who died on the N4 Schoemanskloof Road near Machadodorp on Thursday, 7 June, in a head-on collision.
De Bruin left Centurion in April last year to pursue her dream of becoming a professional hunter fulltime. She placed third in South Africa’s first African Huntress competition in 2015.
