Four men were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm in Olievenhoutbosch earlier this week.
The arrests were made during a routine stop-and-search operation in the area on Monday evening, according to police spokesperson Constable Simon Chokoe.
“They [police officers] spotted a green Toyota Corolla with four occupants at Extension 23. Upon searching [it], one firearm and an empty magazine were found under the back passengers’ seats,” he said.
Chokoe said the firearm had been reported stolen.
