People claiming to be reading electricity metres robbed a house in the Moot this week.
Villieria police spokesperson Captain Coba Brits said this happened around 11:33 in Waverley on Thursday.
“The domestic worker was the only one at home, but refused to let the two men into the property without the owner’s prior consent,” Brits said.
“They [robbers] then pretended to phone the owner and lied to the worker to get in.”
She said the robbers threatened the domestic workers with knives in the home.

They took two television sets and watches before fleeing the scene.
Brits urged residents to remain vigilant and to let their workers know not to give out any private information.
“The robbers are clever and will use this information against you,” Brits said.
