A Centurion-based police operation targeted crime hot spots in the area this week.
According to Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller the operation, which took place on Friday, was held in the central parts of Centurion.
“We targeted several hot spot areas, where drugs are known to be sold,” he said.

Miller said one suspect was arrested for being in the possession of drugs and several suspected stolen items were recovered.
He said the purpose of the operation was to establish a high level of police visibility and disrupt criminal activities.
“Our acting station commander said that we will not stop with our operations,” Miller said.

“In fact, we intend to increase and intensify our activities.”
“The streets of Lyttelton belong to the community – and not the criminals.”
Miller said the operation was held in conjunction with private security companies of the area.
