Tshwane North College students threaten ‘shutdown’

WATCH VIDEO: "If management does not want to listen to our demands, we will go to the main campus and shut it down."

Students at the Tshwane North College in the CBD took to the streets on Wednesday to protest against the national student financial aid scheme (NSFAS).

WATCH VIDEO:

One of the student leaders who did not want to be named said the scheme does not pay student allowances from the beginning of the year.

In addition to the allowance, students also wanted the college’s management to provide students with residence “because most of them live far and often miss classes because of unreliable transport”.

The student leader said management has not yet addressed students on their demands.
