Here are Crawford College Pretoria’s top 3 matrics

All three learners obtained eight distinctions each.

Crawford College Pretoria achieved a 100% pass rate in the 2018 matric exams.

The school’s top-performing learners were Saien Naidoo, Muhammad Ameen Boda and Tasiyah Essop.

All three learners obtained eight distinctions each, with Naidoo obtaining an overall average of 92.08%.

His subjects were English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, information technology, life orientation, life sciences and mathematics.

He said he was inspired by other people’s success, and this motivates him to want to do more.

“I want to be a part of something that changes the world dramatically,” he said.

“I want to study mechatronics/computer sciences and if I were to study locally, it would probably be at the University of Cape Town.”

His interests include fashion, football, callisthenics and technology.

Boda received distinctions for accounting, advanced programme mathematics, English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics and physical sciences.

His average was 89.31%.

He plans to study Bsc actuarial and financial mathematics at the University of Cape Town or the University of Pretoria.

“The potential for the career is vast and I enjoy mathematics,” he said.

“My dreams and aspirations are to be successful, grow as a person and add value to the lives of others.”

Essop obtained an 88.77% average and her subjects were English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, history, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics, music and physical sciences.

She received the white blazer honours for academics, music, service and public speaking.

Her plan is to study medicine at the University of Pretoria.

“I am inspired by my family, endless support and love.”

Her motto is “Veni, vidi, amavi” (I came, I saw, I loved) and her hobbies and interests include music, art, horse-riding, reading and cooking.

School principal Andre Botha said the success was all thanks to the dedication of teachers and parents as well as the hard work put in by the learners.

“We thank the teachers and parents who supported, guided and taught them along their path to success,” he said.

“Congratulations to the Class of 2018.”
