The police are investigating a case of murder after a man was fatally injured when he was shot at close range in Roger Dyason Road on Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened at around 09:20, according to police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma.
Vuma said it is alleged that the man was pulling a trolley filled with scrap metal when he became involved in an altercation with an unknown individual.
“It is believed during the altercation the unknown suspect then shot the man at close range,” she said.
The man’s body was found lying next to the road.
“Unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he was declared dead at the scene.”
The motive behind the murder is unclear at this stage and police were on the scene to investigate the case.
