Police have arrested two suspects for the murder of a Danville woman.
The arrests were made within 12 hours of the murder of the woman in Du Rand Street.
She was murdered in the early hours of Thursday, according to police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma.
“It is alleged one of the suspects knocked on the windows at the premises [of the victim’s son] to tell him he had killed the man’s mother,” she said.
Vuma said following this, an unknown number of suspects fled the scene.
“The police were immediately contacted,” said Vuma.
“Upon arrival, they found the body of a woman, laying in a pool of blood.”
She said the woman had multiple face wounds and was certified dead on the scene.
“Her body was immediately taken by the pathologist,” she said.
Vuma said the two arrested suspects were being detained at the Pretoria West police station.
They would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
