A total of 285 crack cocaine packets along with an unlicensed firearm with ammunition were found in the suspect's house.

A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and dealing in drugs in Lotus Gardens on Monday.

Pretoria West police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma said the arrest was a result of an anonymous resident who informed the police that a man was dealing drugs in Drosera Street.

Inside the house, police recovered an unlicensed firearm with five rounds of live ammunition.

Vuma said ballistic tests showed that the firearm was reported stolen at the Boksburg police station last month.

“The 285 crack cocaine packets, firearm and ammunition were confiscated.”
