The owner of the controversial Eldoraigne property says he will once again wait for the metro to approve his building plans before he resumes construction on the site.
The Saxby Avenue property made headlines last week when owner Mohamed Karin, advertised a “free-for-all” housing scheme on it.
He removed the adverts after the Tshwane metro obtained a Pretoria high court order to remove them last week.

Karin confirmed a high court order had compelled him to remove the signs.
“We will have to abide by the court order,” said Karin.
“That is why the signs have been removed. We will wait for our plans to get approved before doing any further construction.”
Karin erected several signs on his Centurion property where he intended to build townhouses he proclaimed were “free housing scheme by the DA and EFF”.
He provided local ward councillor Cindy Billson’s telephone number as a “contact”.
However, the metro said it had not approved the so-called “housing scheme”, and last week announced its intention to interdict and restrain Karin from erecting illegal structures in contravention of municipal by-laws.
“On top of the court action, the metro will also act decisively against any unlawful behaviour, including threats of violence made by anyone towards the community of Eldoraigne and their councillor.”
Billson confirmed she was still receiving calls from people desperate for homes.
“It is such a pity that it has come to this,” said Billson.
“I don’t just feel sorry for the people who are staying in the neighbourhood but also for those who have been put under the false impression that they would receive housing.”
