The police are regularly patrolling the N4 highway to stem the growing cases of vandalism and robberies on the road.
Security firm Kapanga investigating and protection services said five motorists have reported that their tyres were damaged, while one said they were robbed on the road on Wednesday, 27 March.
Kapanga said in a statement it seemed sharp objects and obstacles were intentionally placed on the road to force motorists to stop, with the aim to rob them of their valuables.

Kapanga said a woman driving eastbound towards Bronkhorstspruit drove over something that damaged her two tyres a few kilometres before the Diamond Hill toll gate.
“She drove through the gate to the Rose filling station to assess the damage and receive assistance to change the tyres.
“Shockingly, at the filling station, four other motorists presented with damaged tyres, including a brand-new Audi had irreparable damage to its four tyres and wheels.
“That brings the count to at least five motorists (to our knowledge) for the night not being robbed because they didn’t stop.”
Kapanga said another who had stopped to call a towing service after his tyres were damaged was not so lucky.
“By the time the service arrived, the motorist had been robbed.”
Police spokesperson Constable Connie Moganedi said the SAPS were aware of the problem and were now monitoring the road regularly.
She urged motorists to be vigilant as criminals were placing objects on the road to force them to stop then rob them as they waited for assistance.
