The Pretoria east man accused of the murder of his wife is expected in court on Friday.
Prem Emmanuel Basdeo is a former policeman accused of killing his wife Dawn and then reporting her missing last June.
An indictment of murder, perjury and defeating the ends of justice is expected to be issued, then the matter would be moved to the high court.
At Basdeo’s previous appearance, the state said it was waiting for the outcome of DNA tests on a bloody knife and towels found in the house he shared with his wife.
Prosecutor Kagisho Rancho said this evidence would play a crucial role in the trial.
Dawn went missing on 8 June, and two days later, her silver Mercedes-Benz SUV was found abandoned in Soweto.

Her body has yet to be found and the State believes that the evidence it has gathered suggested she was murdered.
Basdeo spent the festive season a free man after a Pretoria high court judge released him on bail in November.
Acting Judge David Makgoba said the state failed to show that Basdeo would evade the law or how keeping him in custody would help protect the investigation.
During his bail hearing Basdeo claimed that since his arrest on 14 June, he had suffered the worst police treatment.
He said he needed medical attention for an assaulted by a Brooklyn police officer.
