A video recently made the rounds on social media showing police officers being assaulted by a crowd of people in Pretoria.
Police spokesperson, Captain Coba Brits said the incident happened on Friday afternoon in Sunnyside while the police were “performing their duties”.

“The police were busy conducting their duties and were busy pursuing two suspects,” she said.
“After one suspect was caught the crowd attacked them.”

Brits said a case of attempted murder was opened at the Sunnyside police station.
