A 26-year-old man accused of stabbing a Centurion resident to death in his Eldoraigne home would have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at Weskoppies institution.
This as his case was postponed to 2 May, according to Wierdabrug police spokesperson Captain Cornelius Masalesa.
The man appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court last week Tuesday for a formal bail application.
He is accused of murdering Herman Scholtz (59).

Masalesa said the case was once again postponed to provide time for the accused to undergo the psychiatric evaluation.
Scholtz was said to have died after sustaining multiple stab wounds following the attack in his apartment on 10 March.
He was stabbed in full view of his neighbour who had responded to his screams for help.
The neighbour found the security gate locked and was unable to access the apartment to assist Scholtz.
A private security company and the Wierdabrug police later arrived after being alerted by neighbours.
They then forced their way into the apartment and apprehended the alleged assailant.
