Two people have been arrested in Paul Kruger Street in the CBD, the Pretoria Central police have confirmed.
Spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the two were arrested for theft out of a motor vehicle following a tip-off by members of the public.
She said the suspects were caught on CCTV camera stealing a Lenovo laptop, a recorder and a text book.

Selepe said this was one of many arrests for theft out of motor vehicles in the city.
“Motorists should be careful when they leave their vehicles unattended and in insecure places in the city centre,” she said.
In most theft out of vehicle incidents reported to the police, vehicles were not forcefully opened but remote jamming devices used.
“Even if we strengthen police patrols in the CBD, it is not possible to be everywhere; we urge the public to help us by being more vigilant and parking at secure parking areas.”
Often police investigations find that victims misrepresent the crime scene under oath, she said.
“If someone is found to be untruthful about crimes, they will be charged with perjury.”
She said other anti-crime operations in the CBD at the weekend netted 52 other arrests for various crimes including attempted murder, business burglary and assault.
