A girl visiting her friend at Hatfield Studios in the east of Pretoria was robbed of her cellphone on Wednesday evening last week.
A video of the incident, which is doing the rounds on Twitter, has seen users react in shock of how quick the robbery happened.

In the video, a man can be seen speaking on a phone, when two people approach to exit the building.
As the two exit, the man sees his opportunity to exit door.
The man quickly grabs the phone and runs out of the building.

He jumps into a getaway car in the street.
The head of the residence, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “The girl was not a resident of the student housing centre; she was waiting for a friend who lives there.
“The area where the girl was robbed is a public space and there is a shop.” adding that anyone was welcome in the public space.
She said thefts and robberies occurred a lot in the Hatfield precinct.
She warned students and visitors to be alert.
“By walking around and texting in the area, you are calling for trouble as there are criminals looking out for easy victims.”
