The Tshwane metro has started to clean up an Eldoraigne property which had become the site of illegal dumping.
On Tuesday morning, about 13 workers arrived at the property in Saxby Avenue to clean the site.
Local ward councillor Cindy Billson confirmed this was in accordance with a Pretoria high court order issued last month.

“A fence will also be put up around the property as ordered by the court,” Billson said.
“This will be completed as soon as funds are available.”
According to the court order, the owners of the property must prevent any waste recycling business from being conducted on the property.
Any illegal or unlawful activity on the property must also be prevented.
The owners were also compelled to pay for the fence.
The Eldoraigne property gained notoriety earlier this year after the owner put up advertisements for a “free-for-all” housing scheme.

The Tshwane metro compelled the owner to remove the adverts by obtaining a Pretoria high court order in March.
Earlier this year, the disgruntled owner of the property put up signs which supplied the telephone number of the local ward councillor as a “contact” for free housing.
The metro later labelled the so-called “housing scheme” as illegal, saying it had not been approved by the city council.
