Two women were arrested in connection with a “new-found friends interaction” in which two men’s drinks were allegedly spiked and robbed of their Mazda, cash, cellphones and other items.
The women (aged 25 and 31) were arrested in Mamelodi, according to police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela.
Three months ago, the men met the women in Sunnyside who allegedly spiked their drinks before stealing their motor vehicle, cash, cellphones and other household contents.
Police found the men unconscious at a Mamelodi cemetery before taking them to a local hospital for treatment.
“We recovered the victims’ cellphones in Mamelodi and seized tablets and a substance believed to induce a deep sleep,” Mavimbela said.
The women will face charges of possession of illegal drugs and theft.
“They will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.”
