A Moot security officer is still in hospital undergoing physical therapy, after he was shot during a robbery more than two months ago.
Lourens Brummer, a security officer at Kilnerpark Security, was shot on 4 April in Richard Street, Hatfield during a Kilnerpark shop robbery.
His mother, Susan told Rekord this week that Lourens has been at the rehab section at the Eugene Marais hospital since the beginning of June.

He has been moved to the hospital from another one in Alberton on 30 May.
“Since then he has been undergoing rehab at Eugene Marais,” she said.
Susan said Lourens had to undergo occupational, physio and psychological therapy.
She said he had to stay at the hospital.
“He still had stitches in his wound,” she said.
She said there was no indication of when Lourens would be released from hospital yet.
“We are hoping for the best,” she said.
She said that she also was not sure what lied ahead for Lourens medically.

“We have an appointment at the hospital in Alberton later this week,” she said.
“After the appointment, we should have more clarity on what lies ahead.”
Later in April, Brummer underwent surgery to have a pin placed in his hip to repair it.
Doctors also started to close up his stomach.
After Brummer was shot, he was immediately airlifted to a specialised trauma facility in Alberton, where he was placed in the critical care unit.
By 22:00 that night, Brummer had been rushed to theatre after his wound began to bleed again.
He returned to the theatre at 03:00, where doctors sedated him, put him on dialysis and also on ventilator.

Kilnerpark Security spokesperson Ancelize van der Kooi said two of their security officers responded to the robbery where an unknown amount of suspects fled in a Toyota Quantum bus.
The robbery happened at a cafe in Wilkinson Street.
On the corner of Soutpansberg Road and Gordon Street, the suspects started shooting at their vehicles, Van der Kooi said.
“A bullet hit one of our vehicle’s right front wheel and he had to turn back,” she said.
“Lourens and other KPS response members stayed behind the suspects and kept the police up to date on where they were.”
They continued on to Richard Street where one of the suspects shot Lourens.
No arrests have been made.
