Pta planned road name changes in the works
Pretoria road to possibly be renamed Joost van der Westhuizen if the government has its way.

The Gauteng government has called on residents to attend a public consultation workshop on the renaming of 20 provincial roads of which eight are in Tshwane.
On 29 June, residents can attend the consultation workshop at the Atteridgeville community hall where the proposed name changes to the R55, K46, Ben Schoeman, R50 , R101, N14, R80 and R25 will be discussed.
Phillip Kgosana Drive is the proposed name for the R55, which connects Sandton to Pretoria via Centurion.
The K46, a new project from Diepsloot to Fourways will be named Winnie Madikizela Mandela Drive while Ben Schoeman will be possibly be changed to Moses Kotane Freeway.
The planned new name for R50 that connects Pretoria to Standerton via Delmas, is Joost van der Westhuizen while the R101 to Pretoria via Hammanskraal could possibly be renamed Monomania Ama Naidoo Drive.

The N14 will be renamed John Beaver JB Marks Freeway while the R80 that connects the Pretoria CBD to Soshanguve is to be renamed Dr Sam Motsuenyane Drive.
The R25 that connects Johannesburg to Groblersdal via Kempton Park, Bapsfontein to Bronkhorstspruit will possibly be renamed Muntu Myeza Drive.
The consultation workshop for the renaming of the roads will commence at 10am.
