
Technicians from the Tshwane metro were “working tirelessly” to restore power in some parts of Garsfontein.
According to metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo, the technicians have established so far that the theft of a water meter has led to water flowing into the mini substation, which caused it to trip.
“The team on site is trying to isolate the fault so that electricity supply to residents and businesses can be activated,” he said.

“Due to the intense artisan work that has to go into isolating the fault, the restoration period cannot be estimated at the moment.”
The metro urged residents to remain patient while technicians aere attending to the outage.
He said all network points had to be treated as live at all times.
