NEWSFLASH: Centurion ‘taxi boss’ killed in possible hit

The man was shot several times by four men in a white Ford sedan in Lyttelton Manor.

Police are investigating after a “taxi boss” was shot and killed in a possible hit by four gunmen at a traffic light in Centurion.

The shooting happened at around 13:00 on Thursday afternoon, according to police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele.

The man had been waiting in his vehicle at the traffic lights on the corner of Cradock Avenue and Cantonments Road when four men opened fire at his vehicle.

“The four men were inside a white Ford sedan and fired several shots at the victim’s Toyota Yaris,” said Makhubele.

“He died instantly.”

Makhubele confirmed the victim was a “taxi boss”.

“The men fled the scene and are still at large,” said Makhubele.

“No arrests have been made at this stage.”

“The motive behind the shooting is unknown at this stage.”
