Reservoir upgrades to leave north suburbs dry

Scheduled maintenance and upgrades to the Akasia reservoir will leave a few suburbs in the north of Pretoria without water next week.

Scheduled maintenance and upgrades to the Akasia reservoir will leave a few suburbs in the north of Pretoria without water next week.

Tshwane metro water and sanitation divisional head Dumisani Gubuza said the maintenance and upgrades were for “tie-ins” in Chantelle extension 39.

“The reservoir site is located near the intersection of Berg Avenue and Waterboom Place,” he said.

Gubuza added that although efforts would be made to avoid the water supply interruption, four suburbs could occasionally be affected on Tuesday, 13 August from 08:00 to 20:00; Tuesday, 20 August from 08:00 to 20:00 along with Wednesday, 21 August for the same duration of time and on Tuesday, 27 August from 08:00 to 08:00 on Wednesday, 28 August.

The suburbs set to be affected included Amandasig, Chantelle, Heatherview and Ninapark.
