Uitsig High School, an English Medium School in The Reeds, Centurion is proud of its cultural annual evenings.

The Lig-die-Emmer Gala event was last held on 31 July 2019, in the school hall. A total of 36 items featured on the programme, a cultural highlight for the school community.

Glamour and style are the keys to this event. Learners from all grades showcase their skills in dance, singing, rap, playing a musical instrument and visual arts either as an individual or in a group.

This year Absa Tall, a grade 9 learner was chosen the overall winner of this event for her singing.

Deputy Principal, Ms Leoné Lindique and Kamogelo Molokomme

The next evening, 1 August, provided an opportunity for our learners to recite their own poetry and creative writing. This is also an annual event. Our overall winner was grade 11 learner, Kamogelo Molokomme. Kamogelo is very versatile. She performed in the dramatic poems and creative writing sections for seniors.

Ms Karin Louw is the Head of Culture at the school. She proudly presents both these events annually with the assistance of other staff and independent judges.
