UPDATE: Eldoraigne library mural completed
Local high school arts and culture students started painting the mural three weeks ago.
A group of Eldoraigne High School matric pupils have completed their mural at the local community library.
The mural, which formed part of ongoing efforts to pep up the facility, was painted by the arts and culture students on an interior wall of the library auditorium starting three weeks ago.
Its design highlights mathematics, science and technology.
The pupils and their teacher, Sunette Pearce, agreed to paint the mural after accepting a challenge from local ward councillor Cindy Billson.

Nearby Sutherland High School had painted theirs on the opposite wall.
Billson described the new mural as “phenomenal”.
“It is like nothing I could have expected from these kids,” she said.
“It really looks great and it ties in beautifully with our plans for the library.”
Billson hoped the spruced-up library would encourage more people to make use of the facility.
“We are opening up the challenge to the next high school,” she said.
“I am calling on other local high schools to get involved and come and make their mark on the library’s walls.”
The initiative to uplift the library has been going on for three years with locals making various donations including garden plants and paint.
