UPDATE: West man still missing
Madimetja France Legong, from Atteridgeville, was last heard from on 1 November 2018.
The family and friends of a 33-year-old Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria man last seen in November last year, have been searching for him for months without luck. Atteridgeville resident Madimetja France Legong was last heard from on 1 November 2018, said Pretoria West police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma.
“His former girlfriend and colleagues at work confirmed to his family he had last been seen there,” she said. She said according to his uncle, Johannes Legong, Madimetja was a very down-to-earth person, did not talk much and was shy.

“The uncle is very concerned about his nephew’s disappearance,” she said. Vuma said according to the information they had, Madimetja was expected to travel to Limpopo for his cousin’s wedding.
“He actually got permission from work to leave early, to be able to go to Limpopo,” she said. She said his uncle opened a case of a missing person on 6 November.
Johannes of Kalafong Heights told Rekord that he was “devastated” over his nephew’s disappearance. He said they searched for Madimetja for days before opening a missing person’s case at the police station. “I just want to know where he is and if he is okay,” he said.
“We have already searched everywhere for him, but he is nowhere to be found.” He was offering a reward of R20 000 to anyone that could lead him to his nephew.
“I truly believe that we will get to the bottom of the situation and that the truth will come out,” he said. “Hopefully, the reward will also help.” Johannes pleaded with the community to come forward with information that could lead to his nephew.
“We just want to know what happened and where he is,” he said. “Please help us to track him down.” Anyone with information should also report it to the police, Vuma said.

“We urge anyone who knows more, to let us know immediately,” she said.
She said tip-offs could also be given to the police anonymously.
“Let us help to reunite this family,” she said.
