West learner badly injured in fire accident

Logan Barnard, a Grade RR learner at Laerskool Saamspan, suffered serious burns on Saturday.

A Grade RR Laerskool Saamspan learner was still in hospital after he sustained 50% burns to his body in an accident over the weekend.

Logan Barnard was injured at his home on Saturday evening.

He is currently on a ventilator at Garden City hospital in Johannesburg.

According to Dr Neville Vlok from Halo Aviation, the boy, who was critical, was transported by helicopter from the Eugene Marais hospital to Garden City.

“All that we know is that the accident happened at the boy’s home,” he said.

After the accident, Laerskool Saamspan wished him a full recovery on their Facebook page.

“He got really hurt and we kindly ask for everyone’s prayers that Logan recover quickly and breathe again,” they said.

“We also dedicate his parents and sister in our prayers for strength and grace,” they said.
