Daspoort tunnel to be closed for maintenance

The shutdown will last for 11 hours, from 07h00 until 18h00, on 8 September and 15 September each day.

The Daspoort tunnel, west of the city, was scheduled to be closed for maintenance later this week.

Tshwane metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the tunnel would be closed for the maintenance to lights inside the tunnel.

He said the shutdown will last for 11 hours, from 07h00 until 18h00, on 8 September and 15 September each day.

Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:

– From the North travelling to the west – E’skia Mphahlele Drive and join the N4 or WF Nkomo Street.

– To the North – N4 and pass Trans Orange Road into Vom Hagen Street until E’skia Mphahlele Drive or WF Nkomo Street eastbound.

“The City apologises for the inconvenience that might arise as a result of this planned maintenance,” he said.
