Sports day for toddlers in the Moot

The highlight on the day was, however, a visit from former Springbok rugby player, Bakkies Botha.

The air was full of excitement when several toddlers participated in various sports at Laerskool Boerefort at the weekend.

Children from the Pienk Voetjies kindergarten and their parents participated in several types of sports held on the day.

“Every year, we have a sports day at Laerskool Boerefort,” said the owner of the kindergarten, Linda Coetzer.

“We even present our annual concert in November [at Boerefort].”

Coetzer said about 270 people attended and participated in motorcycling, tug-of-war and running.

The highlight on the day was, however, a visit from former Springbok rugby player, Bakkies Botha.

“He enjoyed the day with us and was on the women’s team in the tug-of-war,” said Coetzer.

Coetzer said the day was a success.

“This is the third year that we have our sports day and people enjoyed it immensely,” she said.

“Every year, it just gets bigger and this year it was massive.”

“Not only could our festive-goers enjoy the sport, but they also got to feast on yummy food that was available at the stalls.”

Coetzer said the highlight was seeing how much the children enjoyed the day.

“It was such a fun day,” she said.

“Of course it was a huge privilege to share it with Bakkies Botha.”

She said Pienk Voetjies kindergarten was situated in Rietfontein and cared for children from two weeks to six-year-olds.

“All our staff are also trained in first-aid and firefighting,” he said.

“Everyone is so excited for the concert in November,” she said.
