North police warn of false information on social media
Concern over false voice notes circulated on social media that schools are being targeted and attacked.

The Sinoville police have issued a warning regarding false information being shared on social media following numerous calls about schools in danger in the area.
“It has come to the attention of Sinoville SAPS that false voice notes are being circulated on all platforms of social media that schools are being targeted and attacked,” a spokesperson for the Sinoville police Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk, said.
Sinoville police station commander Colonel Maria Roberts condemned the false information “aimed at creating mass hysteria in the community”.

She said the safety of the citizens and community was of utmost importance.

“The South African police service has structures in place at each police station that will give accurate and up-to-date facts and incidents that are newsworthy. We, therefore, request that should there be any inquiries of any nature, you contact your local police station for the correct facts.
