
Large parts of Pretoria were without power following a trip at a substation in the east of Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.
According to ward councillor Frans Smith the trip was at the Njala substation in Delmas Road.
He said large parts of Pretoria were without power which went out at around 16:15.

“Areas without power are Brooklyn, Elardus Park, Lynnwood, Rietfontein and Waverley.
“The positive side is that the issue is at one substation, which means that there is only one repair work to be done,” Smith said.

He said it could not be estimated when power would be restored.
Tshwane metro tweeted that the power outage was as a result of a 132 kilowatt trip at the substation.
The metro said technicians were busy attending to the matter and apologised for the inconvenience.
