More than 30 refuse bags filled in west clean-up

“Through this, we aim to keep the city clean and a habitable environment for all.”

As part of a 100 days campaign, a clean-up was held in the west of Pretoria at the weekend.

The campaign was organised by the DA central constituency on Saturday, and they were joined by local acting ward councillor Pastor James Ndlovu, councillors from other areas and executives of informal traders.

He said residents also joined in to help.

The operation kicked off at 09:30, in front of West Park Spar and lasted until 11:30, said constituency chairperson Katlego Makgaleng.

“We have chosen ward 3 because we want to promote visibility in the ward,” he said.

Makgaleng said the day was a success, adding that they filled about 35 garbage bags full of rubbish.

“We received a very good response from the community,” he said.

He said the clean-up was not a one-time initiative, adding it was done regularly.

“We hold these clean-ups randomly each month,” he said.
