NEWSFLASH: Laudium man arrested for murder

"It is alleged that a fight broke out and the deceased was strangled to death.”

A 63-years-old man was arrested for murder in Laudium on Thursday.

Laudium police spokesperson Constable Simon Chokoe, the police, responding to a tip-off about a fight in Itireleng informal settlement, rushed to the scene where they found a man lying on the ground and covered with a blanket.

“It is alleged that a fight broke out and the deceased was strangled to death.”

Through the assistance of the community, a suspect was arrested, he said.

Laudium Acting Station Commander Captain Edward Makgato applauded the members for their swift response which led to the arrest of the suspect.

He further applauded the community for their continuous work with the police in fighting crime.
